Hey there.

I'm Des (they/them). I'm a colorless internet lurker lurking since around the late 2000s and early 2010s. I know, I'm grey, but that's how the internet sees me, at least...

Life (more specifically, How I Got Here)

I think I shouldn't start at my childhood because I don't have one, so let's just start at: "How I got here". (If you're wondering, yes, I was acvtive on the internet since the late 2000s/early 2010s.)

Let's start when I got an iPad. Yeah, the very first model. I dont' know where that came from, but I had "some 'coding' experience" though an app (I'm not gonna tell you what it is, but it's deninitely not Sctatch/Scratch Jr lmao). I was a child back then, but then again, I can't remember all of my f*cked up childhood.

So in that said app, there were projects that were psuedo-websites. I said "psuedo-", becuse it was built using the app's premade codeblocks, not pure HTML as I was expecting. Knowing that it wasn't pure webcode made me a little dissapointed and yearning to become a real webdev someday.

Fast-forward to the pandemic, I was so goddamn bored out of my mind that I decided to try webdev for once. This is also a time in my life where I substantially "droped out", so the boredom was enough to get me into places like... neocities. Sad to say that webdev became another one of my hobbies that I've decided not to make money out of.

Manifesto Internet Outlook

Look, let's not use the word "manifesto" because I hate politics. I'm never gonna be involved in that kind of bull. Ok? Ok.

My outlook for the internet is about merging the old with the new. Like, cherish the old sh*t while makit it better for users down the road. Sadly, the internet isn't like that (and so is real life ☹), that's why we have the Internet Archive, as a reminder that old sh*t is still cool™.

I also believe in ease-of-use stuff. Some might call it "accessibility features", but I believe this isn't for the disabled, it's to make everyone's use of the software easier, as long as you're listening to everyone's feedback and not adding sh*t people will rarely use. The implementation of mobile friendly sites and dark mode is an example.

You're in luck, I have an askbox!
